Spotlight On: Kaylyn Terry

Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into the cast of Escape to Margaritaville. Get to know Kaylyn Terry who is in the Ensemble of our production!

Introduce yourself to our audience.

Hi! My name is Kaylyn Terry and I’m in the Ensemble of “Escape to Margaritaville”. I have loved performing on stage since I was a kid and recently got back into theater at CTC; this is my third back-to-back show at CTC! Off the stage, I am a personal injury and insurance defense attorney at Varunes, Estabrook & Associates in Hartford!

Why did you want to be involved in this production?

This show has a large dance ensemble aspect to it and dance is my favorite portion of musicals. I also knew this show would be silly and fun and it has definitely lived up to that!

Who in the show is most like their character?

I think Joe is most like his character Tully. He’s very laid back and has that beach vacation vibe to him!

Besides yourself, what celebrity would you like to see tackle your character?

I’d love to see Samantha Pauly tackle my character. She’s a fantastic dancer!

What do you do when you’re not doing theatre?

When I’m not at the theater, you can catch me singing karaoke at the local bars and working as an attorney in Hartford.

Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue?

“Me too. It leaves more to the imagination than your speedo”

What’s your favorite Jimmy Buffett song, and why?

I love “Tin Cup Chalice” because it’s very relaxing and reminds of me being home at the lake sitting on our boat.

What sort of person is going to love this show?

I think anyone who loves Jimmy Buffet is going to love this show. It has every reference you can think of!
