Spotlight On: Mark Moyle

Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into the cast of Escape to Margaritaville. Get to know Mark Moyle who is in the Ensemble of our production!

Introduce yourself to our audience.

I’m Mark Moyle. I’ve been doing theater as a hobby off and on for over 50 years.

Why did you want to be involved in this production?

I wanted to be involved in this production because I knew CTC was a great group to work with and in particular for this show, they have a character who is in his seventies.

What do you do when you’re not doing theatre?

When I’m not doing theater, I’m retired, working around the house. I’m also a Lector at St. James’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford.

Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue?

My favorite line in the show is when a character asks about getting a massage, and Jamal, whose arm is in a sling says “Me can’t use me right hand, but me right foot is magical.”

What sort of person is going to love this show?

Types of people who will love this show include, but are not limited to, Jimmy Buffett fans and people who enjoy a good musical comedy. That being said, this is not a show for young children due to some of the content in the songs and the show itself.

“This jukebox musical is the theatrical equivalent of sipping on a frozen drink while lying on a beach chair in the blazing sun.” — FRANK SCHECK of The Hollywood Reporter

““License to Chill” is the right introduction to Margaritaville and the folks who call this island resort home.”  —  MARILYN STASIO of Variety
