Introduce Yourself to Our Audience:
Hi There! I am Ralene Goff and I am playing Mrs. Tottendale. I am an elementary school music teacher, children’s book author, and corgi mom. I have been involved in theater since the 4th grade when I landed the lead comedy role of the Princess in an after school theater club, and have been hooked ever since. I enjoy all aspects of theater including script writing and occasionally directing. I especially love sharing the stage with my husband Fred, who is hysterical in this show!
What is challenging about bringing this script to life?
I think the most challenging part of this show is getting the timing perfect. There is fast-paced comedy, stops and starts, and quick wit that makes this clever show so much fun. Timing is everything.
Why did you want to be involved in this production?
I saw “Drowsy” a few years ago at The Goodspeed and fell in love with it. So, when I heard that CTC was doing it this season, I was thrilled and really hoped to be involved.
Who is the show is most like their character?
What’s going to surprise people about this show?
I think that people are going to be amazed at how much they will be entertained. After all, isn’t that the point?
What will the audience be thinking about in the car as they drive home after this show?
People will drive away with big smiles on their faces and happy joy in their hearts after seeing this show. They will be asking “When is the next show at CTC and how soon can I buy tickets?”
The Drowsy Chaperone opens December 1st and runs through December 17th at Connecticut Theatre Company. Tickets on sale now!
Hailed by New York Magazine as “The Perfect Broadway Musical,” The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre.
