Spotlight On: Enzo Jackson

Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into the cast of The Wedding Singer. Get to know Enzo Jackson who is in the ensemble of our production!

Introduce yourself to our audience.

Enzo Jackson, Mx. Jackson, if you’re feeling formal.

What aspects of your character do you find most relatable or challenging to portray?

I find Ricky to be the most challenging because I have never actually gotten to play any significant guy role and learning how to play a man has been an interesting journey!

How do you prepare for a performance, both physically and mentally?

I find that putting on a playlist I’ve made based on whatever show I’m in and moving around helps.

What Is your favorite moment or song in “The Wedding Singer” and why?

“Single” because I get to live my boy band fantasy.

When did you first start performing?

I started performing when I was 7.

What’s the last thing you do before you step out on stage / the curtain goes up?

I stand in a Superman pose, open my mouth, and silently scream.

What’s your favorite 80’s song/band/performer and why?

Does Donna Summer count? She released music, so I think it counts. Her songs always make me feel better.

What do you hope audiences take away from this production of “The Wedding Singer”?

It takes a village to put together a show and people in your local community have art and stories to share with everyone.

“The Wedding Singer has more heart and a better sense of humor about itself than some of its similarly wacky, winking peers.” ELYSA GARDNER of USA TODAY
