Blockbuster Musical Chicago to be Performed in Central Connecticut
A story of murder, greed, corruption and “All That Jazz” is coming to Central Connecticut with Connecticut Theatre Company’s production of the blockbuster musical Chicago. Chicago follows the stories of two murderesses as they attempt to free themselves from prison and make it big on the Vaudeville stages of the roaring 1920’s.
With one explosive dance number after the other, director Duane Campbell promises this is not a show to be missed. “Connecticut has a ton of fantastic local talent, and the men and women in Chicago are prime examples,” says Campbell.
Connecticut Theatre Company has quickly made a name for itself after taking residence at the historic Repertory Theatre of New Britain. Stephen Michelsson (Billy) of Newington states, “Connecticut Theatre Company has been like a family to me, when I’m not there I miss it.”
The show runs from August 22nd to September 7th at the Repertory Theatre. Chicago stars Sasha Brown (Middletown) as Velma, Alyssa Serrambana (East Hartford) as Roxie, Michelle Rocheford Johnston (Killingworth) as Matron Mama Morton and Stephen Michelsson (Newington) as Billy. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the website at www.connecticuttheatrecompany.org.
