Spotlight On: Liv Testa

Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into the cast of The Wedding Singer. Get to know Liv Testa who is in the ensemble of our production!

Introduce yourself to our audience.

Hi!! I’m Liv and I am in the ensemble!

What aspects of your character do you find most relatable or challenging to portray?

I think that because I do so many different tracks throughout the show, I find the bridesmaids track the most relatable. I love being able to portray having fun with my friends and supporting them- something I also love to do in real life! I would say that I find icon Cyndi Lauper most challenging to portray.

How do you prepare for a performance, both physically and mentally?

I prepare for a performance by giving myself a lot of time beforehand to get ready and mentally get in the zone! I like to listen to my favorite music or watch a good show! Physically- I am always at the gym on show days and try to go on a run to get my body ready!

What Is your favorite moment or song in “The Wedding Singer” and why?

This is such a hard question! I love them all! If I had to choose, I think my favorite song would be “Saturday Night In The City”.

When did you first start performing?

I started performing in 8th grade!

What’s the last thing you do before you step out on stage / the curtain goes up?

Take a deep breath and remind myself I can do it!

What’s your favorite 80’s song/band/performer and why?

My favorite 80’s song would have to be “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston!! This song is everything and more.

What do you hope audiences take away from this production of “The Wedding Singer”?

I hope the audiences take away the value of friendship and love!!  Also- to just have fun!
