Introduce Yourself to Our Audience:

My name is Evan Charette, I am 24 years old and I have been doing theater for almost 10 years! This is my first production with CTC! I attended ECSU for Theatre and Vocal Performance.

What is your favorite song to sing in the show and why?

My favorite song to sing has to be “Fezziwig’s Annual Christmas Ball” ! There are so many beautiful harmonies, and it’s such an upbeat tune! You can’t help but to smile while singing that song.

What is the most rewarding part of being part of such a large ensemble cast?

That we have each others backs… we really have to rely on everyone to make this show work. Everyone has so much to bring to this show and you can tell.

What is your favorite part of the creative process, whether it be during rehearsals or performances?

My absolute favorite moment is the first run with the pit. Once the score really comes alive I feel like the show jumps starts to really come alive!

How does the energy of the audience impact your performance?

It significantly impacts my performance. There’s an underlying relationship between the audience and the actors. If they’re enjoying the show, we know we did our job well.

What sort of person is going to love this show?

This is really a family show, anyone at any age can find something to enjoy about this classic story. We really tackle a little of everything with this show, so I think anyone can enjoy it.

What is your favorite holiday memory?

Waking up on Christmas morning to find Santa eating the cookies and milk we left, and Rudolph eating the carrots!

“A Christmas Carol” opened on December 6th and runs through December 22nd at Connecticut Theatre Company.  Tickets on sale now!

Lynn Ahrens and Mike Ockrent’s snappy book makes us laugh while the catchy songs (Ahrens also wrote the lyrics) leave us tapping our feet; together, the music and movement contains an irrepressible happiness.” – Arifa Akbar, The Guardian

Although this is a Christmas show, it does have universal themes that may resonate with people of all faiths. The story reminds us of all the poor and lonely people who need help to survive. It brings up continuing battles for compassion and equality, that are as evident today as they were in 1844 London.”Jennifer Goldman, Daily Democrat
