Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into our talented cast and crew of Zanna Don’t. Get to know Sam Battle!

Introduce Yourself to Our Audience:

Hi there, my name is Sam. I’ve been involved in shows with CTC for just over three years now, starting with the “original” production of Guys & Dolls back in 2020.

What made you want to audition for Zanna Don’t?

I was thrilled to audition for Zanna Don’t because of the smaller cast size compared to some of the other shows I’ve been a part of.

How do you most identify with your character?

In this production, I have the privilege of playing Steve Bookman. I relate to his character a lot, having also been raised in a military family and constantly moving around.

What’s your favorite song in the show and why?

The energy in many of the songs really resonated with me, especially in my favorite, “Ride Em'”. Having grown up in the South, I have a particular fondness for songs like that.

Why should audiences come to see this show?

If you’re looking for a fun show about love, friendship, heartache, and a little bit of magic, then you definitely won’t want to miss “Zanna Don’t”.

Zanna Don’t opens September 8th and runs through Sept 24th at Connecticut Theatre Company. Tickets on sale now!

“It’s a sentimental story, but very humane and, maybe even more important, executed with talent, warmth and polish.” – New York Times
