Connecticut Theatre Company Presents The Comic Farce “Noises Off”

The hilarious comic farce Noises Off opens on Friday, July 10th at the Repertory Theatre in New Britain, home of Connecticut Theatre Company. Noises Off tells of the misadventures of a British theater group as they tour a farce titled “Nothing On”. The theater term “noises off” refers to offstage sound effects. The noises off this time are the backstage antics of the actors who are wrapped up in a farce of their own. This three-act comedy gives us a side-splitting glimpse into the group as they attempt to hold it together long enough to finish each show!

Noises Off stars 9 local actors and actresses from Central Connecticut, including Ryan Glick (New Britain), Heather Sauer (Branford), Albert Geetter (West Hartford), David Sirois (Wolcott), Barbara Gallow (Newington), Jean-Marie McGrath (Naugatuck), Daniel Morrow (Naugatuck), Viktoria Noel (Deep River) and Chuck Stango (Middlebury). Director Chris Kulmann states, “When Connecticut Theatre Company offered me the opportunity to take on Noises Off, I was honored, and in for a lot of work. Luckily for me, I have been graced with an incredibly talented cast and extremely flexible stage manager [Kristen Norris of Berlin, CT] who all play hard and work even harder. Their commitment and skill level is the foundation for this show. ”

The play runs from July 10th – July 26th at The Repertory Theatre in New Britain (23 Norden Street). Tickets are general admission and are $18.00 for adults and $15.00 for seniors. Shows are Friday and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.connecticuttheatrecompany.org or bought at the door the night of the performance.
