Connecticut Theatre Company

Spotlight On Renee J Sutherland, Guest Choreographer

reneeThis week’s Spotlight features Renee J. Sutherland, from Middletown, CT. Renee is currently choreographing White Christmas for Connecticut Theatre Company.  This is the first time she has taken on the role of choreographer alone, but comes to us with many years of dance training, including: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and African Dance. Previously Renee has helped choreograph Young Frankenstein and played one of the Dynamites in CTC’s production of Hairspray.  Renee has brilliantly transitioned into choreographing on her own with such a dance-heavy production.  Renee has been an asset to CTC with her wonderful attitude and helpful nature. It’s a joy to watch her grow throughout the rehearsal experience.

When asked what her favorite thing about Connecticut Theatre Company’s production of White Christmas, Renee said:

My favorite thing about CTC’s White Christmas is all the dancing! This show is a flashback to what musicals and theatre used to be, with a focus on the classic jazz and tap breaks where leads used to sing AND dance. CTC is doing a great job with following that vision and you’re in for an audio and visual treat when you come down to the theater!

Welcome to the family Renee and we hope you enjoy your time with CTC!
