Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into our talented cast and crew of Guys and Dolls. Get to know Kristen Norris!
Please introduce yourself and state your role in the show.
My name is Kristen Norris and I’m playing Miss Adelaide in CTC’s production of Guys and Dolls. This role has been a dream of mine since I was little and I’m overjoyed that I get to fulfill my dream at my favorite theater!
Who is your favorite guy from the Guys and Dolls movie, Nathan Detroit or Sky Masterson? Why?
My favorite guy from the movie is Sky Masterson, played by Marlon Brando. He is so suave and confident, its irresistible.
Who is your favorite girl from the Guys and Dolls, Sarah Brown or Miss Adelaide? Why?
I am biased, Miss Adelaide is my favorite. I love her financial independence and total confidence in her career.
What are you most excited about accomplishing in your role for this show?
I am looking to bring out Adelaide’s intelligence during this show. Because of Adelaide’s bubbly, playful style and accent its easy to veer into caricature territory quickly. I am looking for opportunities to showcase her experience and motives to bring depth to her personality.
If you could be a part of Nathan’s gang, a Hot Box Girl, a Save A Soul Mission member, or Havana Night Club attendee, what would you choose?
I would love to be a Hot Box Girl in real life! I’ve been dancing since I was little so its a natural fit for me.
Tell the people something to get them excited for this show!
This cast is so talented! Even from the first read through we could all feel that this show was gonna be great. We have so many new faces and every cast member is bringing their best to the stage. Its going to be magic!
