Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into our talented cast and crew of Guys and Dolls. Get to know Noah Ryan Pekari!
Please introduce yourself and state your role in the show.
Hi my name is Noah Ryan Pekari and I am playing the role of Nathan Detroit. This is my third show at CTC and I am very excited to grace the stage once again.
Who is your favorite guy from the Guys and Dolls movie, Nathan Detroit or Sky Masterson? Why?
My favorite guy is probably Sky. Though I will be playing the role of Nathan, I think Sky is a complex character that keeps the show from being a simple love story.
Who is your favorite girl from the Guys and Dolls, Sarah Brown or Miss Adelaide? Why?
My favorite girl role in the show is definitely Miss Adelaide. Head over heels for Nathan, this role provides an honest balance of humor and romance not often found on the stage.
What are you most excited about accomplishing in your role for this show?
I am most excited to bring the Role of Nathan Detroit to life on the stage. In years past he has been played by greats such as Frank Sinatra and Nathan Lane. Honoring these two greats while finding my own place in this character will be a challenge I’m excited to accept!
If you could be a part of Nathan’s gang, a Hot Box Girl, a Save A Soul Mission member, or Havana Night Club attendee, what would you choose?
I would chose to be a member of Nathan’s gang because they seem to have such fun!
Tell the people something to get them excited for this show!
I think this has the potential to be one of the greatest community productions of Guys and Dolls ever. I especially would like people to keep their eyes out for the supporting cast of this show. Though you can’t have a show without ANY of the cast, the stars of THIS show are often found in roles or places you wouldn’t expect. With a star cast and crew we are excited to put on a show!
With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls opens March 20th and runs through April 5th at Connecticut Theatre Company. Tickets on sale now!
