Spotlight On: Emma Wilcox

Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into our talented cast and crew of Guys and Dolls. Get to know Emma Wilcox!

Please introduce yourself and state your role in the show.

I am Emma Wilcox and I am a member of the ensemble for Guys and Dolls!

Who is your favorite guy from the Guys and Dolls movie, Nathan Detroit or Sky Masterson?  Why?

I think Sky Masterson may be my favorite of the two. He just seems more suave and lovable than Nathan Detroit. He’s more of a romantic guy.

Who is your favorite girl from the Guys and Dolls, Sarah Brown or Miss Adelaide? Why?

Miss Adelaide is my favorite lady from the show. I think she’s goofy and such a funny, odd character. Every minute of her is enjoyable.

What are you most excited about accomplishing in your role for this show?

I’m most excited for all the dance numbers, being a dancer myself. I mainly consider myself a ballroom dancer, so it’s always nice to have an opportunity to branch out beyond ballroom.

If you could be a part of Nathan’s gang, a Hot Box Girl, a Save A Soul Mission member, or Havana Night Club attendee, what would you choose?

I would choose ot be a Havana Night Club attendee. I’m a huge fan of latin music and latin dance, I feel I’d have the most fun there!

Tell the people something to get them excited for this show!

The whole cast is full of fun and loving personalities that will make it that much more enjoyable to watch these characters come to life on stage.

With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls opens March 20th and runs through April 5th at Connecticut Theatre Company. Tickets on sale now!
