Spotlight On: Travis Karas

Connecticut Theatre Company’s “Spotlight On…” series continues with a look into our talented cast and crew of Guys and Dolls. Get to know Travis Carl Karas!

Please introduce yourself and state your role in the show.

Salutations! My name is Travis Carl Karas, I’ll be playing Sky Masterson.

Who is your favorite guy from the Guys and Dolls movie, Nathan Detroit or Sky Masterson?  Why?

To be honest, I’ve never seen the film, so I can’t choose!

Who is your favorite girl from the Guys and Dolls, Sarah Brown or Miss Adelaide? Why?

I’m a fan of Sarah Brown! She is dedicated to her purpose, I respect that.

What are you most excited about accomplishing in your role for this show?

I’m excited to work with my fellow cast members to put on an excellent production. In my role, I want to be able to help my cast mates shine on stage!

If you could be a part of Nathan’s gang, a Hot Box Girl, a Save A Soul Mission member, or Havana Night Club attendee, what would you choose?

I would be a Hot Box Girl, no doubt about it.

Tell the people something to get them excited for this show!

Come and reserve a table! With cabaret style seating, you can bring your own food and drinks! Save some for me, I’ll be hungry!

With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls opens March 20th and runs through April 5th at Connecticut Theatre Company. Tickets on sale now!
